The Supremacy Seventies

The 1970s was considered to be post-civil rights movement era. With all the improved federal acts of legislation, the 1970s was marked the start of a new era for the African Americans. African Americans were then beginning to be appointed for political positions. This time period sparked an increase in white supremacy also. The development Brown v. Board of Education was not an end to white supremacy. They believed it to be the American dream. Although African Americans had an advancement in civil rights during the 1970s, African Americans became frustrated because their economic conditions did not improve. They were also facing a repeated issue in desegregation of public schools. The Supreme Court decision in 1954 made little to no progress in public schools. Once the school segregation was considered to be unconstitutional white Americans moved to private schools and it did not help the quality of education that the public schools were receiving.
