the strifeful sixties

The 1960's were a tumultuous time to live in. It is profoundly known as the "Sixties" and it is often time referred to as the continuous Civil Rights movement. African Americans fought for years in order to have their voices heard, the Sixties exemplified the fight for equal rights and against racial discrimination. During this era, protestors became prominent and more radical; drawing much needed attention to the social injustice that was endured on a daily basis. Jim Crow, racism, segregation, and racial inequality completely dominated America and its' citizens in every aspect. Our Nation is not a utopia and there is still plenty of reformation to be done; especially in regards to accepting those who are different from what seems to be the "standard American". The Sixties decade has an extremely significant impact on America and its' citizens, and it began to pave the way to accepting change.
